Hârn and HârnWorld are the creations of Maple Ridge, BC, Canada author N. Robin Crossby. This detailed setting was created about 30 years ago, and boasts over two million words in print, highly detailed maps, numerous cultures and societies, and a detailed pantheon. Peter Leitch, creator of Lythia.com and the HârnForum, describes Hârn as a land of feudal kingdoms, barbaric tribesmen, and vicious monsters. It is also a land of secretive wizardry and religious turmoil, knights and hapless peasantry. The attention to detail allows a gamemaster to create his or her stories in a rich, vibrant setting, which is consistent and believable.

HârnCon VI will be held at the Marpole
Curling Club, August 29 - 31, 2008 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. This venue
offers a large meeting room as well as a spacious pub, both of which have plenty
of tables for gaming.
For those wishing to book accommodations, the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel offers a special rate for participants at Marpole Curling Club events. The Marpole Club is about 3 blocks away from the hotel. Maps and directions are available on both web sites.
The fee for the weekend will be CDN $30. The advantage of
registering in advance is that you will be able to sign up to run and/or play
games using the web interface. Advance fees can be paid using PayPal to Brian
McNeilly [bmcneilly at shaw dot ca], or you can mail a cheque (please contact
Brian directly to obtain a mailing address). Once you have paid, you will be
issued a ticket number.
The Vancouver Gaming Guild is sponsoring the convention, and the weekend will be scheduled using the VGG online registration system. To register, you will need to create a profile for yourself in the registration system. As well as a login id, you will be asked to enter your real name, which is used in the game schedule. Aliases are not used in the schedule since it is much easier to locate Brian McNeilly on game day than Brénan-al-Saél. Once in the system, you can validate your ticket number, and then input events that you would like to run, and sign up to participate in games already posted on the schedule.
Hope to see you in
August!
